Moresco

Marche Rosso IGT

Variety
Wine obtained from the grapes Montepulciano (100%). In some vintages Montepulciano can be blended with a 10% of Sangiovese grapes.

Production tecniques
Grapes are scrupulously selected during the collection of the bunches, that are carried out by hand in plastic crates.
Destemming and fermentation at controlled temperature. Maceration of skins for about 3 weeks, and then a natural malolactic fermentation.
Ages for 2 years in Rovere barrles of little size in a first moment (225 and 500 litres) and in a bigger barrel (2.500 litres) in a second moment, then in bottle for another 6 months.

Colour
An intense deep ruby red color with ruby tins, that became orange reflections with the passing of time.

Aromatic notes
Rich bouchet of cherry and red fruits, blackberry and plum mixed to the cinnamon and vanilia aroma derived from the aging in wood. After a few years of aging, perfumes evolve towards the taste of chocolate, leather and liquorice, taking typical scents of a "meditation wine".

Tasting notes
A full wine, but despite its great structure, turns out very smooth. It's immediately mouth-filling with a persistent aftertaste of fruit and plum. It leaves in the mouth a very elegant tannin, and is made more comlex by aging in Rovere barrels.

Food pairing
Perfect with red meat dishes as pork, lamb and beef steak. We suggest: fillet of beef with green pepper or beef steak with tomatoes, rucola and Parmigiano.
Ideal matches with huntig or with cheeses with strong flavour as Parmigiano Reggiano or Grana Padano. We suggest: rabbit stew or duck.
Must try with a check of dark chocolate, maybe in front of a fireplace.

Curiosity
The name of the wine is due to its colour particularly intense and dark ("moro" in italian) and to the beautiful medioeval village close to the vineyard called "Moresco"

It's recomended the use of the decanter and to open the bottle at least one hour before consumption.
